Paul R. Smith, 89, an Albuquerque resident since 1960, died Wednesday, October 20, 1999. Mr. Smith is survived by his son, Paul G. Smith and wife, Jane; granddaughter, Deborah Hernandez; grandson, Eric Arnce; great-granddaughter, Celine Nicole-Irene Hernandez, all of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Blake, his wife, E. Irene Smith, and his cat Baby. Mr. Smith was a graduate of the University of Indiana. He retired from the US Atomic Energy Commission at Kirtland AFB as a safety systems specialist. he was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where he was active with the Jolly Elders, served as an usher, and was superintendent of Sunday Schools. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 26, 1999 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church 9500 constitution, NE, with Rev. Gerald White, officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
