She was born on February 21, 1914 in Quemado and moved to Albuquerque as a young woman. Here Fidelia graduated from the University of New Mexico, married and raised her family. She taught in the Albuquerque Public School system for 34 years. Following an accomplished career as an elementary school teacher and after her much anticipated retirement, Fidelia finally had time to devote to the things she loved. She tatted beautifully, took delight in cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, sewing, gardening and all manner of arts and crafts. She was a lifelong Lobo fan. Fidelia will be remembered for her kindness, strong Catholic faith, creativity and especially the love she had for her family. Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas NE, 87110. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to those who were so supportive during this long and difficult illness, especially, her sister Lydia and Max from Hospice. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
