Obituary for Martinez

Celine Martinez, a lifetime resident of New Mexico, and former employee of the Santa Fe Public School System and the Bureau of Land Management, died Thursday after a decade long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Mrs. Martinez, age 74, is survived by four children, daughters, Vicki Vehar and husband, Mike, and Roberta Martinez; sons, E. Anthony Martinez and wife, Christy, and David Martinez; five grandchildren, Dustin Casteel, Christa, Rebecca, Andrea and Jake Martinez; three brothers and sisters, Marcella Lucero and husband, Don, Marie Marks and husband, John, and Robert O. Martinez. She is also survived by a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Martinez; son, Richard S. Martinez; her mother and father, former New Mexico State Representative, Manuel Martinez of Santa Rosa and Fidelia C. Martinez of Santa Fe. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 21, 1999, 3:00 p.m., at Berardinelli Family Funeral Chapel in Santa Fe, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 22, at St. Francis Cathedral with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to Alzheimer's Association, New Mexico Chapter.
