Obituary for Price

Dorothy D. Price, 90, born September 10, 1909, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, November 17, 1999 at her home in Rio Communities in Belen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmas Price. She retired as a kindergarten teacher from the public schools of Kansas and was once voted"Kindergarten Teacher of the Year" for the state of Kansas. She was a loving and courageous person with a sincere love for children. Dorothy was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma during her years in Belen and was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church at 113 La Luna, in Belen, where she was very active in the Women's Outreach Program. During her last several months she was comforted by caretakers, Kate Dougherty, Julia Torres, Lucy Maez, her doctor, Steve Cohen, and a very special friend, Lois Tafoya. She is survived by her nephew, William Richard Switzer and his wife, Marion of Clamath Falls, OR. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, November 20, 1999, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, with Father Phil West presiding. Sunrise Society is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Women of St. Philip's Outreach Program.
