Obituary for Vaughan

William"Bill" H. Vaughan, 74, a resident of Belen, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 1999. He was a member of the Methodist Church and life member of the VFW, DAV, and National Trappers Association. Bill enlisted in the United States Navy in 1943. He was promoted through ranks and commissioned in 1957, proudly serving his country for 26 years. Bill was an avid bowler and archer, and active in many sports while in the Navy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Qurida M. Vaughan in 1996; his father, William in 1963; his mother, Evelyn in 1990. He is survived by his two children, William S. Vaughan and wife, Marna S. of San Marcos, CA and Evelyn R. Hahn and fiancee, Tony Chiovari of Pinewood Springs, CO. Also surviving are two grandchildren, William Henry Braddock and Benjamin Taylor Vaughan. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen.
