Obituary for Salas

Liberato M. Salas,"Libby" Liberato M., born September 5, 1927, departed this life to be with his Lord, His Father Almighty in Heaven on March 6, 1999. Serving in the Army/Air Corps. during WWII, and in the Navy during the Korean conflict, he was honored with bronze stars and commendation medals. He went on to retire from the civil service as a computer analyst at Kirtland Air Force Base, retired from the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District, and most recently enjoyed service as a greeter at Wal Mart. He is survived by his most loving wife, Vina, married 47 years; one son, Henry Salas and daughter,"Chickie" Ellen Marie and husband, Lawrence Gallegos; one grandson, Jeremy Lee Salas and grandchildren, Deborah and husband, Gabriel Blea and Aidan Gallegos. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Jane and husband, Orlando Corejo, Candelaria Salas, and Barbarita Salas; brothers, Fred and wife, Toni Salas and Gilfred Salas; sisters-in-law, Charlotte, Sylvia, and Helen Salas, Genevieve Rodriquez, and brothers-in-law, Ramon Romero and George Benavidez. Rosary is to be held Monday, March 8, 1999, 7:00 p.m. at Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming Blvd, NE, Albuquerque, 821-0010 with Mass to be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 at Our Lady of The Assumption Catholic Church, at the corner of Lomas and Tennessee, NE, Albuquerque, with burial at 1:00 p.m. in Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Gilford Salas, Andy Salas, Fred Salas, Edward Salas, Richard Carejo and John Rodriguez.
