Mrs. Myra Durr, 81, a former longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away at the home of Mrs. Essie Green of Tacoma, Washington on Tuesday, March 2, 1999. She is survived by a very loving and faithful friend, Mrs. Essie Green of Tacoma, WA; a business associate and friend, Ms. Evangeline Quintana of the Albuquerque South Broadway Cultural Center; a longtime friend, Mrs. Thelma W. Cole of Albuquerque; and a host of church and community friends. Mrs. Durr was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.W. Williams; and her sister, Lillian, all from Birmingham, Alabama. In fulfillment of her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 8, 1999, 11:00 a.m., at Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church, 7920 Claremont NE in Albuquerque with Reverend John D. MaGee officiating. In lieu of flowers, make contributions to Grant Chapel A.M.E. Scholarship Fund, 7920 Claremont NE.
