Obituary for Swager

Donald W. Swager, 46, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, February 22, 1999. He is survived by his parents, Ray and Myrtle Lockinger, Charles and Ruth Swager, all of Albuquerque; daughter, Zoey of Moriarty; brothers, Dick Swager and his wife, Sue of Virginia Beach, VA, Dean Swager and his wife, Deborah; nieces and nephews, Heather and Melina of Virginia Beach, CA, and Dana, Dena, Dawna and Deona Swager of Albuquerque; aunts, Sharon Welsh and Sybil Brooks and their families; great-aunt, Velma Coleman and beloved cousins. Don was born 1/08/53 and lived in Albuquerque for five years before the family moved to Columbus, NE where he was raised, went to school and developed a passion for music. He belonged to several bands in Nebraska and played popular music for many fans. Throughout the years, he helped nurture a love for music in his family and friends. Don attended trade schools and became an accomplished draftsman, making use of his artistic skills. He worked for several manufacturing firms. When he returned to Albuquerque and rejoined other members of the family, he became a valued and essential member of the local family business, T&M Research, which manufactures electronic components. He was considered an artisan at his work, was methodical and meticulous, carrying on a family tradition in quality. He was a member of several different bands performing Country/Western and popular music. He married Melissa Swager and they had a daughter, Zoey, together. Don was a loving and devoted father. He was known by many for his music, but he was also a caring benefactor. Don was a generous, providing for others while he himself would do without. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and countless others whose lives he touched. Memorial services will be held Saturday, 2/27/99 at 10:00 a.m., Sunset Memorial Park Chapel, 924c Menaul NE, Albuquerque, NM. Arrangements for cremation were made by Sunrise Society of NM, 891-8200.
