Louise S. Brown, formerly Louise Shackelford, maiden name Louisa Semons, left us peacefully on February 22, 1999. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be missed by all her family and friends. Her oldest brother, Joe, survives her. Louisa was born on February 29, 1910 in Opelousas, Louisiana, later married John Morgan Shackelford who she precedes, and three children, Betty Jonas (deceased), Barbara Leeson (deceased), and John Jr. Through them she has ten grandchildren and the great-grandchildren are still coming. She lives on through them who will never forget her-each have gone on because of her, and we all love her for who she was and what she stood for. A true pioneer who lived through hard times good and bad, Cajun mais oui, she defined life and lived it in the fullest. May God smile on her now and forever through our blessed Saviour, Jesus Christ. Cremation arrangements are being provided by Sunrise Society, 891-8200.
