Obituary for Montoya

Deluvina"Della" Saiz Montoya passed away Monday, February 22, 1999 at a local hospital. A lifelong New Mexico resident, she was born to Maximilliano and Adelaida Saiz in Alameda, NM on April 16, 1917. She is survived by her daughter, Fran Phipps and husband, Paul; by her son, Robert Montoya; by the children's father, Aurelio (Monty) Montoya; by her grandchildren, Lisa Vencill and husband, William, and Barry; by her brother, Emiliano Saiz and wife, Theresa; and her sisters, Louise Alvarado and husband, Johnny, Margaret Baca and husband, Amado, Charlotte Ortiz and husband, Placido, Alvita Chavez and Edna Baca. A son, Fidel Montoya; and a sister, Piedad Sandoval preceded her in death. Della retired from Sandia National Labs in 1975 after 23 years of service. After her first retirement, she worked for several years with Bernalillo County. During her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas with her son and daughter. Service will be held Thursday, 11:30 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7500 Paseo del Norte NE. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
