Ruby Jean Scott"Miss Ruby", 61, died Sunday, February 21, 1999. She was born on March 10, 1937 to Gene and Ruby May in Forth Worth, Texas. Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, Chuck Mooney; daughter, Kristen Lynn and husband, Jay Johnston of Albuquerque; sons, Shannon Charles Scott and wife, Lora of Albuquerque, Shawn Cameron Scott and wife, Aida Frances of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Shelby Raeann Johnston, Jacob Waylon Johnston, Shawn Cameron Scott II, and Charles Justin Scott; mother, Ruby May of Albuquerque; sister, April Dawn Morrow of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Gene May and sister, Patricia Ann"Penny" West. While living in Forth Worth, TX in the 1960's, she was the president and on the Board of Directors of the Casa Amigos Show Theater (Casa Manana Play House). She was also the vice president of the Northwestern Hills Garden Club in Forth Worth. From the mid 60's to the early 70's, she was the president of the Culinary Arts Department of the Junior Women's Club. Her parents founded and operated"Dock Hollidays Hock Shop's" in Albuquerque. Mrs. Scott moved to Albuquerque in early 1976, she owned and operated"Albuquerque Pawn Shop" until the present. She was quite busy as she opened, owned, and operated the"Sundance Saloon and Dance Hall" from 1983 to 1994. To all of her patrons, Mrs. Scott was lovingly known as"Miss Ruby." She was a very prominent business woman, and she loved the pawn shop business and the night life. Mrs. Scott was a social butterfly and loved to be in the spot light. She loved to dance and act. Ruby was a loving boss, friend, daughter, mother, and grandmother. She is loved by many and will be missed by all. Services will be held Wednesday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE. Pallbearers will be Jay Johnston, Shannon Scott, Shawn Scott, Mark Rabon West, Mark Daniel West, and Rick Morrow. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Tuesday, from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m.
