Obituary for Gilcrease

Rev. Robert Elijah"Buck" Gilcrease, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1943, died Sunday, February 21, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Reatha Louise of the family home; daughter, Linda Karen Taul and husband, Edd of Mountainair, NM; son, Jerry Robert Gilcrease of Albuquerque; son-in-law, Walter Floyd of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Jean Floyd, his parents, and two brothers. Since 1981, Mr. Gilcrease was a pastor at the Free Will Baptist Church. He also owned and operated Buck & Jerry's Self Service Station on south Broadway. In his early years, he was a heavy equipment operator in the area. Services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Merle Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
