Obituary for Fitzwater

William David Fitzwater, 81, an Albuquerque resident since 1976, died Thursday, February 18, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann; sons, Terry of Texarkana, TX, Mark of Denver, CO; daughters, Erin Giardetti and husband, Roland of Redding, CA, Diane Theis and husband, Thom of Phoenix, AZ and Kathryn Fitzwater-Heumann and husband, Robert of San Juan Capistrano, CA; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. William was born April 25, 1917 in Brooklyn, NY and graduated with a Masters degree in Wildlife Management from New York College of Forestry in Syracuse, NY in 1941. He served with the 19th Med. Gen. Lab in the South Pacific in World War II. He retired from US Fish and Wildlife Service and Environmental Protection Service in 1976. He pursued his hobbies of writing, photography and traveling until he had a stroke September, 1992. He was a member of Palo Duro Camera Club, Bear Canyon Mac Club, New Mexico and Rocky Mtn. Outdoor Writers and Photographers, and NARFE Chapter 1411, Stroke Club Survivors. William's body has been donated to the UNM Medical School. His family will celebrate his life at a gathering at some future date.
