Obituary for Garcia

Felipita Gallegos de Garcia was born in McGaffey, NM on January 6, 1915 and passed on to a better life on August 25, 1999. Mom Garcia was the widow of Jose Manuel Garcia of Algodoness, NM. Felipita was the much loved mother of daughter, Cayetana and son-in-law, Ambassador Ed Romero currently from Madrid, Spain; sons, Roberto Garcia and daughter-in-law, Jane from Grass Valley, CA and Phillip Garcia and daughter-in-law, Anita from San Rafael, CA. She also was the adored grandmother of Christina Salazar, Ruth Sneddon, Anna Harrod, Steven Romero, Lino Garcia, Ramon Garcia, and Elisa Garcia; and great-grandmother of Adam Romero, Nicolas Lopez-Guerra, Andrea Lopez-Guerra, Camela Lopez-Gurerra, Alejandra Salazar, Sarah Sneddon, Elise Sneddon and Gabriela Harrod, who will also miss her greatly. Felipita helped build St. Therese Church, Queen of Heaven, and others around the state. She belonged to Church of the Risen Savior for 15 years and served with many organizations there. She was especially devoted to her family and her Catholic faith. A woman of the highest principles, morals and truth, she also demonstrated great courage. She was the family's"Rose Kennedy" in never wavering and never losing faith. She left a legacy of faith, love and was an example of how to lead an entire life of devotion to husband and family. A Rosary will be prayed this evening, 7:00 p.m., at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, by her Pastor, Father Paul Baca. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at the church followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons-in-law, Peter Harrod, Jonathan Salazar and Steven Sneddon; grandsons, Steven Romero, Lino Garcia and Ramon Garcia; and great-grandsons, Adam Romero and Nicolas Lopez-Guerra.
