Obituary for Baumgartner

Sarah"Gig" Krakow Baumgartner died Sunday, August 22, 1999. Sarah was born in Davenport, IA, May 6, 1929. She had been a resident of Albuquerque for 51 years. Sarah is survived by her husband, Richard Baumgartner of the family home; daughter, Patsy; sons, David and Bruce; granddaughter, Alexis; and brother, Roger Krakow and wife, Sally. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Alfred and Kenneth Krakow. Sarah graduated from Stephens College and the University of New Mexico where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was an active volunteer, recently serving 15 years as a member of the Board of Friends of the Rio Grande Nature Center. She actively enjoyed sports, including tennis, golf and swimming. Sarah wished to thank her many friends who contributed so much to her joy in life. She asked that her friends with whom she regularly played golf to dedicate one fun round to her memory. A private graveside service will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Please, no flowers.
