Obituary for Nutting

Donald"Don" F. Nutting, 51, a resident of Albuquerque for 12 years, died peacefully Saturday, August 21, 1999 surrounded by his family members. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Nutting; son, Donald W. Nutting; daughter, Erica Encinias and husband, Joe; grandchildren, Trevor and Tiemey; and his mother, Winifred Nutting, all of Albuquerque. Don moved to Albuquerque in 1987 to manage KKJY Radio Station. In 1991, along with two partners, he started"Prime Time" newspaper. In 1997, he and his partner, Sid Fendley, opened Mountain Road Recording Studio. Don was known locally and nationally for commercial and radio voice over work, as well as being the announcer for Channel 13 and RECA Better Homes & Gardens Home Show. Don was the youngest person to interview The Beatles on his radio talk show in New Jersey. Don also began the first charitable campaign for Joy Junction. He helped begin the 24 hour prayer line at Hoffmantown Church and also assisted in opening the Bernalillo Soccer Complex and many other functions involving children. His hobbies were photography, traveling, music, woodworking and soccer. he belonged to the International Brotherhood of Magic. Don enjoyed making people laugh and he was a"living angel." Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming NE, Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Services will be Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain NE, with Pastor Bruce Wilder officiating. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
