Obituary for Candelaria

Luz Amalia Candelaria, 87, a lifetime resident of Manzano, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, August 21, 1999 in Manzano, NM. She was born March 8, 1912, to Juan Jose and Juanita (Lopez) Turrietta in Manzano, NM. She married Jose T. Candelaria, January 24, 1938 in Manzano, NM; he preceded her in death, August 3, 1995. Mrs. Candelaria was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Manzano, NM. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Alberto and Carmelita Candelaria of Mountainair, NM, Alfredo and Oralia Candelaria of Albuquerque, Guillermo and Juanita Candelaria of Albuquerque, and Mario and Frances Candelaria of Albuquerque; one daughter, Magdalena Lajeunesse of Manzano, NM; two brothers and sister-in-law, Canuto and Teresita Turrietta of Manzano, NM and Manuel Turrietta of Roswell, NM; one sister, Celedonia Garcia of Albuquerque; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Teodoro; and daughter, Rosarito. The Rosaries will be recited Sunday and Monday, August 22, 23, 1999, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Manzano, NM. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 24, 1999, 10:00 a.m., also at the church. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Ruben Lajeunesse, Steven Candelaria, Anthony Candelaria, Moises Candelaria, Lawrence Candelaria and David Candelaria. Honorary pallbearers will be all the other grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, NM.
