Obituary for Jojola

Juan A."Tony" Jojola, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away from this life on Sunday, September 19, 1999. He was born on March 16, 1927 to Seferino and Damacia Jojola on the Isleta Pueblo. Tony was a unique and simple man who was passionate about New Mexico, its historic ruins and its beautiful mountains. Tony served his country in the US Navy during World War II, but most importantly, he served God and his Native American people as a Baptist Missionary and Minister until his retirement. More than anything, Tony loved his wife and family. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Peggy; sons, Tony Jojola and wife, April and Jon Jojola; daughter, Teri and husband, Will Lett."Tata" was devoted to his grandchildren, Miki, Cole, Jacqi, Brynne, and Cammi who will all miss his love and attention, unbearably. Tony is also survived by four sisters; one brother; and numerous relatives in East Texas and Louisiana. Services will be held Wednesday, September 22, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
