Obituary for Pacheco

Gregory Pacheco, 20 years of age, and resident of Rio Lucio, passed away from this life to his eternal life with his Lord, on October 5, 1999, in San Diego, California, while bravely battling a forest fire. His remains were transported from San Diego to Santa Fe Airport yesterday. He was then escorted by the USDA Forest Service to Lujan's Espanola Funeral. Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, Louis Lopez-maternal, Crecensio Pacheco-paternal. He is survived by his parents, Edward and Laura Pacheco from Rio Lucio; his paternal grandmother, Eduvijen Pacheco from Rio Lucio; and his maternal grandmother, Reyecita Lopez from Picures Pueblo; one brother, Matthew Pacheco and wife, Feliz from Chimayo; and one niece, Deseree Povijua also from Chimayo; one sister, Edwina Pacheco from Rio Lucio and his girlfriend; Vivina Gonzales from Dixon; and many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. A Rosary will be recited tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Lujan's in Espanola. Visiting hours are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at San Antonio de Pauda Catholic Church in Penasco on Friday, October 8, 1999. A Rosary will then be recited at 2:00 p.m. following the visitation. Mr. Pacheco will then be transported to Picures Pueblo for a Rosary at 9:00 p.m. at his grandmother's home (Reyecita Lopez) where he will remain until 8:30 a.m., Saturday. He will be taken back to San Antonio de Pauda Catholic Church in Penasco where a Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Father Adam Ortiz de Ortega will officiate. Interment will follow at the Picures Pueblo Cemetery. Lujan's Espanola Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
