Obituary for Abeyta

Richard Abeyta Jr., 83, born in Socorro, NM and a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, October 5, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lugarda Duran Abeyta of Belen. He is survived by three daughters, Marie Hochrein and husband, Jerry, Nancy Nowicki and husband, Fred, and Aneeda Abeyta; six grandchildren, Ana Marie and Joel Rogers, Brad Killman and wife, Yvonne, Lisa and James Hochrein, and Jeff Killman; and great-grandson, Josh Killman; and many other family members. He was a kind, loving family man that thought of others before himself. His garden reflected his loving touch. Mr. Abeyta was a veteran of the US Army in WWII and retired from the US Postal Service after 27 years. The family wishes to thank Sam and Carmen Chavez, Ron Cepak, Hospice, and Montebello personnel who gave loving care to Richard. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 9, at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church in Old Town with Monsignor Lucero officiating. He will be buried at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
