Obituary for Hernandez

Mr. Tomas Hernandez Sr., 81, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on October 4, 1999. Mr. Hernandez was the beloved husband of 20 years to Isabel Hernandez. He is also survived by his children, Marylou Torres, Estella Elewell and husband, Aniseto, Antonia Wixom, Ray Vargas and wife, Debbie, Evelyn Gonzales and husband, David, Sandra Pusac and husband, Charles, Tom Hernandez Jr., and Michael Hernandez; one brother, Johnny Hernandez and wife, Barbara of L.A., CA; 25 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two aunts, Albina Hernandez and Annie Lovato; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Hernandez was a member of the Catholic Church, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW, with visitation at the church after 6:30 p.m. Gabriella Nieto will recite the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning, 9:00 a.m., at Holy Rosary Church, with final viewing at the church from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. Father Joel Garner, Celebrant. Committal service will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:00 noon. Pallbearers will be David Gonzales Jr., Joseph Archuleta, Mike Wixom, Alfred Torres, Edward Elewell and Thomas Elewell. Honorary will be Charlie Pusac and David Gonzales Sr. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, in charge of arrangements.
