Obituary for Gilson

Nina B."Granny" Gilson, 95, a resident of Belen, died Monday, October 4, 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Hodges of Belen; grandchildren, Jimmy Wade and wife, Judy of Nobel, OK, Debbie Washburn of Belen and Steve Gilson of Limitar; great-grandchildren, Tyson Wade and wife, Tammy, Cory Wade and wife, Laura Beth, all of Jonseboro, AR, Sloan and Desiree Washburn of Belen, and Kaycee and Gavin Gilson of Ruidoso; great-great-grandson, Wesley James Wade; and numerous nieces and one nephew. Mrs. Gilson was a native New Mexican, she was born on March 19, 1904 to a longtime ranching family in the Glenwood, New Mexico area. She and her husband, Earl were cattle ranchers in Catron Co. NM for over 48 years. Nina also lived in Reserve, NM for a number of years before she moved to Belen. She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt, who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at Glenwood Community Center, Glenwood, New Mexico, with Pastor Tom Duseck officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne Shelhorn, Auggie Shelhorn, Travis Kiehne, Wesley Snyder, Dean Spurgeon, Chad Le Seur, Beau Bruton and Curt Kiehne. Honorary pallbearer will be Grem Lee. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
