Margaret McCarty Mann, 93, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away September 23, 1999. She was a resident of the Jackson, Mississippi area. Mrs. Mann was a graduate of Milsaps College, graduated Cum Laude, and taught in the Aztec Public School. She was also a member of Galloway Methodist Church. Mrs. Mann was preceded in death by her husbands, Dr. Eli McCarty and Merle Mann of Jackson; and her son, Lutheran Scott McCarty. She is survived by her son, Dr. Ben McCarty of Black Mountain, NC; daughter, Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Batsel of Albuquerque; and sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Campbell of Madison and Mrs. Bernice Hederman of Jackson. Services were Saturday at the Chapel of St. Catherine's Village, with Burial at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson. Memorials may be made to Galloway Methodist Church.
