Obituary for Duran

Mr. Richard E. Duran passed away Wednesday in Albuquerque at the age of 76. Mr. Duran was a member of the Catholic Church. He was also a veteran of World War II and a member of the DAV Chapter 3. Mr. Duran is survived by his wife, Maria Elena Duran of the family home; son, Richard R. Duran and wife, Ana; daughter, Elsie Griego and husband, Tony, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Carl Duran of Turkey, Ray Joe Duran and Rudy Duran, both of Albuquerque; sisters, Lucy Leyba, Sue Romero, Jenny Castillo, Vangie Hernandez, all of Albuquerque, Carrie Luna of Los Angeles, CA, Ruth Carrillo and Dolly Duran, both of Barstow, CA; five grandchildren, Carrie Silva, David Griego, Joyce Lewis, Ceasar Duran and April Duran; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Duran will be held on Monday at the St. Therese Catholic Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Ceasar Duran, David Griego, Eugene Duran, Andres Duran, Mario A. Hernandez Jr., and Eric O. Hernandez. A Rosary for Mr. Duran will be recited on Sunday evening, 8:00 p.m., at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
