Rodney (Rod) Dwayne Finnerson, age 31, passed away to glory Thursday, September 23, 1999. Rod was born in Los Angeles, California on May 2, 1968, soon after became a resident of Compton, California, and graduated from Luzinger High School in Compton, CA in 1986. For the past six years Rod was a resident of Albuquerque, and recently attended Freeway Trucking School, where he obtained his certified driver license; he was employed by Air Gas Co. of New Mexico. In his short, but full life Rod touched the lives of many people, and although he has passed on, he will live in our hearts forever. Rodney is survived by his mother, Carolyn Finnerson and his step-father, Louis Grand; his children, Arrion, Alisha and Lakeisha; his sister, Kimberlyn L. Finnerson; his loving significant other, Ilona Csanyi and her daughters, Demecia and Celestina; his niece, Brandy Nekia Gross; his step-brother, Ernest (Scoobie) Green; two aunts; three uncles; and a host of cousins and friends. Rod was preceded in death by his father, Jerry; his paternal grandparents, Edward and Margarette Finnerson; and his maternal grandparents, Thomas Higgins and Thelma Morris Higgins. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 1999, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW, with a memorial service following visitation at 7:00 p.m., Elder John Monroe officiating. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, in charge of arrangements.
