Floyd A. Sheppard, 87, died on August 9, 1999 in Albuquerque. He was born in Logan County, Arkansas and worked in the oil fields in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana for 30 years before moving to Albuquerque in 1961, where he worked for Furrs Cafeteria until early retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Hazel; and a daughter, Nancy. He is survived by two sons, Floyd Sheppard Jr. and wife, Cheryl of Ozona, TX and Donald Sheppard and wife, Jodie of Grants, NM; a daughter, Dorothy Scoggins of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., this evening, at Sandia Funeral Care. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 12, at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE. Pallbearers will be Tommy Sheppard, Damen Scoggins, Al Puglise, Darin Sheppard, David Sheppard and Chris Archuleta. Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
