Obituary for Lovato

Henry A. Lovato, age 83, born July 12, 1916, died peacefully at home Thursday morning, August 5, 1999. A life long resident of Albuquerque, he is survived by his wife, Jane; daughter, Doris Lovato; son, Henry Anthony Lovato II and wife, Carla; his other daughter, Susan Sanders and her husband, GE; by loving grandchildren, Karen Lovato, Brandon and Colt Sanders, other grandchildren, Paul Martinez, Marleen Quintana and husband, Arnold; and great-granddaughter, Savannah; a brother, Fred Lovato and wife, Frances; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances in 1978. A survivor of the Bataan Death March, he was a prisoner of war for 42 months during World War II. He was a member of the 111th Calvary, 200th Coast Artillery; American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor; American Ex-POW's, VFW and DAV. He was awarded numerous medals including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Honorary Pallbearers are Karen Lovato, GE, Brandon and Colt Sanders, Ralph Rodriguez, Leo Padilla and Agapito Silva. Rosary to be recited on Tuesday, August 10, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's on the Rio Grande Church (4080 St. Joseph's Place NW). Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday August 11th at 10:00 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery & Mausoleum (7500 Paseo del Norte NE). Reception to follow at home of Henry & Jane Lovato, 5 Mill N.W.
