Joan Judith McDonough, 64, a resident of Albuquerque passed away July 5, 1999 at home. She was born May 19, 1935 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to James and Judith Blomster of rural Wetonka, South Dakota. She is survived by her husband, Richard E. McDonough; her daughter, Kimberly J. and husband, Marco DeFillippis, from Rio Rancho, New Mexico; a brother John and wife Sally Blomster of Wetonka, South Dakota; a sister, Janice and husband Gene Coats of Eldon, Missouri; two nieces, Debra Hostetter of Topeka, Kansas, Michelle Benjamin of Columbia, Missouri, Britt Pickrel of Denver, Colorado, Bridgette Blomster in Peace Corps Namibia, Africa and returned to the USA on November 1998; three nephews, Michael Hostetter of Columbia, Missouri, John Erik Blomster and Jay Blomster Wetonka, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joy Peterson; and nephew, Dru Glassburn. She graduated from Ipswich High School, Ipswich South Dakota in 1953. She attended Huron College, Huron, South Dakota 1953-1955. She worked at Black Hills Ordnance Depot, Igloo South Dakota from 1957-1962. She gave birth to Kimberly in 1967 and resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1973. She attended Kirtland Air Force Base Chapel, was active in choirs and Protestant Women of the Chapel. A member of Enchanted Mesa Chorus of Sweet Adelines International, 1979-1997. She worked for Indian Arts and Crafts Association from 1987-1993. pallbearers are Bill Nerris, Bill Johnson, Don Brynes, Clausel McCorkle, Max Chastain, Dick Toliver. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 8, 1999 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE. Services will be held on Friday, July 9, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Chapel, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE.
