Obituary for Torres

Dennis A. Torres (DAT), 44, a resident of Belen, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 1999. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Carpenter Local #1319. Dennis never said"no" when someone was in need and was considered a surrogate father to all of his children's friends."He loved you all." he was loved and respected by all and never hesitated to lend a hand when anyone needed help. During Dennis' short life on this earth he influenced everyone he met. Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Felicita Torres in 1996. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Sylvia of the family home in Belen; his daughter, Dominique Torres of Denver, CO; his son, Marcos and his partner, Selina Sanchez of Belen; his twin daughters, Ellena and Veronica, both of the family home in Belen; his father, Alex Torres of Belen; his brother, David Torres of Manzano; his sister, Marcella Chavez of Belen; father-in-law, Leroy Bustamante; and his wife, Sydney, also of Belen; and his mother-in-law, Dolores Hawks of Albuquerque; two sisters-in-law, Theresa Landavazo and her husband, Fred III, Cindy Tabet and her husband, Chris of Los Lunas; two God sons, Frederico Landavazo IV and Craig Tabet. Dennis is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; uncles, aunts and cousins. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Mountainair Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Medrano, Robert Vigil, Robert (Castro) Castillo, Gary Moore, Jeff Sparks, Chris Tabet, Jerry Baca and John Sisneros. Honorary pallbearers will be Marilyn Lujan and Charlie Estrada. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen, NM.
