Obituary for Gomez

Carmelita Gomez, 89, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, died Friday, January 8, 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Isabel Padilla and husband, Jim of Albuquerque; son, Roberto Garcia of Las Vegas, NM; adopted daughter, Rita Lucero and husband, Frank of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; many nieces of Denver, CO; and special friend, Silverio Ulibarri. Mrs. Gomez was preceded in death by her husband, Crescencio Gomez. She was a lifelong Catholic. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd., NE, with Deacon Frank Lucero and Los Hermano Penintentes Reciting. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs on the Rio Grande Parish, 4020 St. Joseph Pl NW, with Father Frank Prieto, Celebrant. Private disposition will take place. Pallbearers will be Robert Gonzales, Frankie J. Lucero III, James Montoya, Toby Padilla, Michelle Padilla, Jacque Padilla-Carlson and Lynn Padilla. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd., NE, Sunday, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
