Cosme Luis Zuniga Gutierrez III, a Belen High School Graduate, was called home to be with the Lord on May 28, 1999. He was born in Loma Linda, California on July 19, 1981. Cosme has lived in Belen since 1996 and was formerly from Cedaredge, CO. Cosme was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Cosme Escontrias Gutierrez in 1996. Cosme is survived by his loving parents, Cosme and Norma of the family home in Belen; his sister, Caridad Rosalia; his brother, Alexis Roberto, all of the family home in Belen; his half-sister, Julianna Zuniga Placencio of Deming, NM; his girlfriend, Jonalynn Malcom of Los Chavez, NM; maternal great-grandmother, Camila D. Lucero; maternal grandmother, Maria Lucero Zuniga; maternal grandfather, Angel O. Zuniga all of Deming; paternal grandmother, Celia Flores Gutierrez of Santa Clara, NM; aunts and uncles, Yolanda Echiribel of Venice, CA; Jamie Gutierrez and his wife, Tillie of Socorro; Pedro Diaz and his wife, Irma of Silver City; Henry Lopez and his wife, Hilda of Lancaster, CA; Grace Garcia of Santa Clara, NM; John Madrid and his wife, Silvia of Deming; Ernesto Zuniga and his wife, Tammy, Rolando and Charlie Zuniga all of Deming; godfather, Bobby Carrillo and Theresa of Deming. Cosme is also survived by his many loving relatives and cousins."The Road of Life""I expect to pass through this world but once. For I shall not pass this way again."Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St, Belen, NM Arrangements will then be transferred to Baca Funeral Home, 811 South Gold. Visitation will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Deming, NM on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the St. Ann's Catholic Church in Deming followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 a.m. also at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Hurley, NM next to his grandfather.
