Obituary for Montoya

Mr. Ernest (El Canario) A. Montoya, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 30, 1998. Mr. Montoya was the beloved husband of 62 years to Mrs. Martha Montoya. He is also survived by one son, Deacon Manuel Montoya and wife, Eileen; one daughter, Frances Perea; four grandchildren, Ernie, Louie, Roberta and Yvonne; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Clara Jaramillo and husband, Sam; three brothers, Louie Montoya and wife, Alice, Bennie Montoya, Hipolito Montoya, Jr. and wife, Emily; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Montoya was a member of the Catholic Church and loved to hunt. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening, 6:00 p.m., at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church, 300 Mildred NW with visitation at the church after 5:30 p.m. Deacon Manuel and his wife, Eileen, will recited the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 9:30 a.m., at St. Therese Church with final viewing at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Father Stoeber, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne Moore, Ernie Perea, Porfirio Armijo, Bernard Sisneros, Carlos Armijo and Louie Ray Montoya. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, in charge of the arrangements.
