Tom G. Warner, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, died Monday, February 1, 1999. He is survived by his brother, Fred B. Warner, Sr. of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife, November 16, 1993. Mr. Warner was born November 18, 1911 in Leslie, AR. He lived his early life and adulthood in Little Rock, AR, where he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps Glider Program in 1942. Mr. Warner had a distinguished service record as a glider pilot, with participation in the Belgium Invasion during WWII and later on, landing troops and war equipment ninety miles behind enemy lines in Wessel, Germany. Mr. Warner was awarded the Silver Air Medal, with one oak leaf cluster; the Distinguished Unit Citation Badge; four Bronze Service Stars; and one Bronze Service Arrowhead. He married Alice Louise Williams in June 1943, while he was stationed at Kirtland Field in Albuquerque. Mr. Warner was an official of the New Mexico Interstate Bank at the time of his retirement in June 1974. Graveside services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale SE.
