Obituary for Salazar

Alberto Matias Salazar, 72, a resident of Belen since 1979, peacefully passed away on June 4, 1999. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all his family. Alberto worked for many years for Star Paving Co. Alberto was preceded in death by his two grandsons, Chris and Albert Sena. He is survived by his loving wife, Sofia of the family home in Belen; his two daughters, Linda Salazar and Margie Sena; his two sons, Cipriano and Ray Salazar; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; his two brothers, Jacob Salazar and his wife, Rebecca, Joe Salazar and his wife, Sylvia; two sisters, Irene Apodaca and her husband, Juan, and Lucia Brito. A Rosary will be held on Sunday, 5:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, (101 N. 10th). Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Pajarito Cemetery, (corner of Coors and Pajarito Rd. SW, in Albuquerque). Pallbearers will be Joe Chavez, Pete Vigil, Matias Garcia, Antonio Ledezma, Juan Apodaca, and Felix Yawakie. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen, NM.
