Connie Montano passed away peacefully on July 31, 1999 at home with her family after a long battle with cancer at the age of 46. Her memory will be cherished by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Eloy Montano; and her son, Eloy Montano Jr.; her father, Santiago Chavez and mother, Faviola Chavez; her father and mother-in-law, Juan and Nicki Montano; her sister, Cathy Gonzales and husband, Ralph; her brother, James Chavez and wife, Lori; her sister, Marlene Zamora and husband, George; many nieces, nephews, and in-laws who loved her very much. The Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary on the corner of 8th and Iron. Mrs. Montano will lie in state today, from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning, time and place to be announced. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Albert Montano, James Chavez Jr., Gabriel Padilla, Gilbert Montano, George Zamora, Ralph Gonzales. Honorary bearers will be David Montes and Richard Cordova. Services are under the direction and care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover SW.
