Obituary for Lepp

Robert E. Lepp, 72, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, was called home by the Lord on Sunday, May 23, 1999. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Bette Ann; two daughters, Roberta Susan (Bobbi) Carrillo and her husband, Ben of Edgewood and Kathleen Adell Risley and her husband, Scott of Cedar Crest, NM; four grandchildren, David Robert (Rob) Puckett, Jennifer Susan Risley, Kelsey Karlyn Carrillo and Katie Kileen Carrillo; sister, Margaret Funderburg; brother, Richard Lepp of Albuquerque; nephew, David Funderburg and wife, Mary; niece, Nancy and Bob Anderson of Maryland; great-nephews, David Anderson and John Funderburg; great-niece, Lisa Wood; and great-great-nephew, Cody Wood. Mr. Lepp was a Navy Veteran of WWII, having proudly served in the Pacific in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He retired from the Defense Nuclear Agency at Sandia Base after 35 years of service. He was a longtime member of La Mesa Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder, served on the Session, and worked in many other capacities. He was a longtime member of the Albuquerque Elks Lodge #461, and American Legion Post #49. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, coin and stamp collecting, as well as being a shadetree mechanic. He enjoyed his cabin near Cuba, NM, which he built with his son-in-law, Scott. He particularly enjoyed spending time with and doing things for his family. Services will be held Thursday, May 27, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper Ave. NE, the presiding Pastors will be Rev. Kathi M. Hunter and Rev. Leroy Elmore. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 2:30 p.m., with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #49. Pallbearers will be John Whiteman, George Le Bow, Rob Puckett, David Funderburg, Jim Culberson and Andy Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be J.C. Morris, Pat Morris, Bill Morris, Walter Norris, Mahlon Love, George Svetcoff and Bill Gorton. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Kaseman Presbtyerian Inpatient Hospice, 8300 Constitution NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110, or the charity of your choice.
