Esther Agnes Hurley-Ryan, died December 31, 1998. Esther was born in Lenox, Iowa on April 19, 1902 to Otto and Mary Hurley. She was the oldest of nine children. Esther married Francis Eugene Ryan in 1924. The family moved to Raton, NM in 1927, where Esther worked for the Boyle family, the Ideal Laundry, Zellar's Cleaners, and retired from DeLisio's Department Store. She was a member of St. Patrick's and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Raton. In 1992 she moved to Albuquerque to be close to her family. Esther is survived by her son, Reldon; daughter-in-law, Alice Houston-Ryan; and granddaughter, Catherine Ryan-Massey; great-grandchildren, Jack, Molly and Karli, all of Albuquerque; also a sister, Roberta Fox of Chicago, Illinois. Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 5, 1999 at St. Joseph's Church in Raton.
