Obituary for Marrs

Albert T. Marrs died suddenly on March 4, 1999. He was born in San Diego, California on April 20, 1923, and was a veteran of World War II where he served in the Army Air Corp in the South Pacific. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a Bachelors of Science in meteorology. He worked for Sandia National Laboratories as a meteorologist and, later, as a project engineer, for 34 years. He also received an M.B.A. from Anderson School of Business at UNM. In retirement he enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, music, his pets, and especially, his grandchildren. He was active at La Mesa Presbyterian Church as an elder, a deacon, and a member on several committees. He enjoyed singing with the Channel Choir. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marian; daughters, Marcia and her husband, Terry O. Brown, Marie and her husband, John G. Moon; granddaughter, Mandy Brown; and grandsons, Chris Brown, Nick Moon and Greg Moon. Services will be Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at 10:00 a.m. at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper Ave. NE (255-8095) with Rev. Kathi Hunter officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to La Mesa Presbyterian Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
