Obituary for Easley

Jerry Lynn Easley, 49, passed away unexpectedly in Portland, OR, Tuesday, January 26, 1999. He was born in Albuquerque on July 23, 1949 to Max and Ann Easley. He graduated from Rio Grande High School, attended the New Mexico Military Academy, was a graduate of the University of Albuquerque, and served with the New Mexico National Guard. Jerry had a varied career in law enforcement, as a juvenile probations officer and probation officer for the New Mexico Department of Corrections. He was also Deputy Sheriff with the Bernalillo County Sheriffs Dept. In Oregon he served with the Clackamas County Sheriffs Dept. in the river patrol division before accepting a position with the Portland Community College, and at the time of his death, was Sergeant for the Portland Community College Department of Public Safety. Services were held Tuesday, February 9, 1999 in Portland, OR. He is survived by his parents; a sister, Maretta Mather; brother-in-law, Rick Mather of Albuquerque; maternal grandmother, Filapina Meese of Gallup; and a number of relatives. The family wishes to thank those who have been so helpful in their time of sorrow.
