Obituary for Davenport

James L."Jim" Davenport, 70, a resident of Albuquerque since 1971, died Sunday, February 14, 1999. He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Sally Davenport of Albuquerque; daughter, Rachel Simpson and husband, Van of Searcy, AR; sons, James Davenport and wife, Donna of Texarkana, TX and Peter Davenport and wife, Pamela of Brunswick, ME; step-daughters, Debra Griego and husband, Gino of Albuquerque and Lisa Furrow and husband, Robert of Tucson, AZ; brother, Donald Davenport; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Maxine Cox and Jean Tearnan. Mr. Davenport was a member of the Albuquerque Senior Men's Golf Association. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. Services will be held Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Robert Furrow, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be James Davenport, Peter Davenport, Van Simpson, Gino Griego, Charles Bartow and Butch Cillessen. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Harrington, Jay Cox and Wally Ferguson. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Tuesday, 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Lovelace Hospice, 5655 Jefferson NE 87109.
