Obituary for Groogan

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday June 16, 1999

Kenneth Jerome Groogan, he left us too soon - but we are grateful for the love and laughter he shared so willing while with us. Kenneth left this world, Saturday, June 12, 1999. Born July 26, 1967 in Houston, and reared in Texas, he was a graduate of J.W. Nixon High School in Laredo. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Desert Storm Conflict and returned to civilian life as a Cardiac Technician and Caregiver. His compassion and skill will be missed by countless patients and co-workers at the New Mexico Heart Institute. Sharing their loss will be dear friends at the Laughing Lizard, Jemez Springs, where Kenneth shared his love of cooking. An avid sportsman, he loved good music, good conversation, and good friends to share them with. He is survived by his two sons, Austin Groogan of Jemez Springs and Preston Groogan of Anchorage, AK; parents, William and Shereen Groogan of Wenatchee, WA; sisters, Elizabeth Gutierrez and Kathryn Gonzalez of Laredo, TX; brother, Greg Groogan of Cleveland Heights, OH. A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, June 16, 1999, 5:30 p.m., at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Barr at 496 Mooney Blvd., Jemez Springs, NM. Cremation arrangements were provided by Metropolitan Direct Burial and Cremation Center, Inc., 601 Mountain Rd. NW, Albuquerque, 766-9400. He was well loved-and will be dearly missed.
