Nellie Sanchez, 73, a lifelong resident of Belen, passed away at home on Saturday, June 12, 1999. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Nellie was retired from the Belen Public School System working first hand as a secretary to many Jr. High principles for well over 20 years. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, Climaco and Trinidad Sanchez; three brothers, Richard, William, and Robert Sanchez. She is survived by her two sisters, Florinda S. Carter of Albuquerque and Dolores Sanchez of Falls Church, VA; one brother, Climaco Sanchez Jr. of Albuquerque. Nellie is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Romero Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 12:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Gutierrez, Milton Savedra, Fernandez"Sonny" Sanchez, Daniel, David, and Brian Carter.
