Obituary for Pitts

Donald Stewart Pitts, 71, died Saturday, June 12, 1999, due to complications from Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He died peacefully with his family at his side. Mr. Pitts was born December 1, 1927 in Raton, NM. He served in the Army Air Corps. Mr. Pitts sang with the Lads of Enchantment Barber Shop Quarter and he retired from Sandia Labs in 1990, after 37 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Linda Kay Pitts; sons, David Pitts of Albuquerque, Michael Pitts and his wife, Virginia Pitts of Albuquerque, Randy Pitts and his wife, Katja Schlenkermann-Pitts of Germany; daughter, Karen Pitts of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Ana-Lisa and Lars Pitts of Germany; brother, Ed Pitts and his wife, Wanda Pitts of Farmington, NM; and sister-in-law, Bette Lee Wilson of Albuquerque. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, June 16, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo del Norte NE.
