Obituary for Irvin

Illiff (Ike) Auburn Irvin, 72, a life long resident of Moriarty, passed away Saturday, June 12, 199 at his home in Moriarty, NM. Mr. Irvin was born December 13, 1926 to Albert C. and Maude (Seamen) Irvin in Moriarty, NM. Ike attended Moriarty schools and served his country in WWII from 1945 to 1946, he worked numerous years and retired from the Civil Service, he received several awards and letters for outstanding service while in the Civil Service. When he was very young, Ike started training horses and continued doing so until recently. He will be missed by the people whom he was acquainted with. The family wishes to thank everyone for all the caring, love, and help that everyone has shown. Mr. Irvin was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Maude Irvin; three brothers, Ancel, Ardeth (Cub), Conway; and two sisters, Billie and Vestel. He is survived by two sisters, Fawnie Blancett of Albuquerque, NM and Rema Bates of Moriarty, NM; four sons, David and Dianna of South Carolina, Paul and Judith of Portales, NM, Larry and Elena of Moriarty, NM and Chuck and Debbie of Amarillo, TX. He had nine grandchildren, Kerri and Tami Irvin, Emily Irvin and Elizabeth Horek, Betti Jo Walters and Joni Irvin, Eric Irvin, and Zach and Aaron Irvin; one great-granddaughter, Desiree Flores; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral Services were held Tuesday June 15, 1999--2:00 p.m. with Terry Connley officiating, with burial to follow at the Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers were Louie Gunther, Charlie Bates, Sugundo Encinias Jr., Dewayne Brittnell, Joe Russell, and Jake Jacobs, Honorary Pallbearers were Lloyd William, Guy Coombs, Mervin Henson, Stanley Henson, Charlie Martz, Brent Pebley and Frank Wells. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM.
