Irene F. Gardner, age 89, passed away at a local hospital on Saturday. She was born in Barberton, Ohio, daughter of Louise and William Larkin. Irene was a very active in Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary, 40 and 8 and many other charitable organizations in which she held important offices. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents, and her sister Helen. She is survived by her niece Polly Hite of North Canton, Ohio. A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 4, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE with Rev. Harold Nilsson of St. Luke Lutheran Church presiding. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9100 Menaul Blvd NE, 87112.
