Obituary for Delara

Paul Ephraim DeLara, a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, grandson, cousin, uncle, brother-in-law and friend, has passed away on to his resting place at the age of 56, on January 30, 1999. He was a lifelong resident of Placitas, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ephraim DeLara and Ida DeLara; and one brother, Donald DeLara. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Rosemary DeLara; two sons, Paul Anthony and Jason; two grandchildren, Aaron and Ashley; three brothers, Charlie and wife, Vivian of Placitas, Jeffrey and wife, Joyce of Clarksville, TN, Steve and wife, Norma of Andrews, TX; two sisters, Vivian of Placitas and Virginia Rivera and husband, Hector of Placitas; grandmother, Florinda DeLara, age 97, of Placitas; and his mother-in-law, Lucy Marquez of Bernalillo. Also surviving are many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was a dedicated employee for 37 years of Centex American Gypsum. Some of his many pleasures were his passion for fishing and hunting, and also bicycling, and his beloved dog, Flippy. He took pride in his yard and took great care of it. He will be greatly missed by all. A Evening Service will be conducted tonight, 7:00 p.m., at Las Placitas Presbyterian Church in Placitas, NM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at Las Placitas Presbyterian Church, Placitas, NM, with the Reverend Jane Harmes officiating. Interment will be at San Antonio de Las Huertas Cemetery in Placitas. Pallbearers will be Bert DeLara, Clarence Duran, Eddie Marquez, Richard Sandoval, George Montano, Jim Holly. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie DeLara Jr., Andrew Taraddei, Ben Wiggins, Ray Ashe, George Arington, Thich Le. Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th Street, Norbert"Ray" Baldonado Jr., 898-3160.
