June F. Corner died December 31, 1998. Born June 16, 1917 and raised in New York City, she married Cecil Corner in 1938. A devoted wife and mother, she followed Cecil in his Civil Service career first to Sacramento, California in 1949, then to Kodiak, Alaska; Little Rock, Arkansas; Buffalo, New York; and finally to Albuquerque, where she and her husband have resided since 1956. It was at her Albuquerque home that June cultivated her passion for growing roses. She was preceded in death by her younger sister, Ann Gray, and is survived by her husband; her older sister, Gertrude Schweibish of East Islip, New York; and her daughter, Dorothy Corner Amsden of Los Alamos. Cremation has taken place. No memorial service is planned.
