Obituary for Brown

Robert J. Brown SGM, AUS (Ret) passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday January 25, 1999. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty. Robert was born in Houston, Texas on February 23, 1925 to Robert Sr. and Minnie Brown. Robert worked as a Safety Engineer for the State of New Mexico Osha and City of Albuquerque Risk Management before retiring. Robert served his nation proudly in WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He retired from the Army Reserves at the rank of Sgt. Major. Robert belonged to the American Society of Safety Engineers and was Safety Professional of the year 1991. Robert was a member of Sandia Mountain Lodge #72 and was Worshipful Master in 1972. He was also a member of Zia Daylight Lodge #77, Scottish Rite and Shriners. Robert is survived by two sons, Rhett of Farmington and James and his wife, Kathy of Los Lunas; and a daughter, Rebecca. He is also survived by two grandsons, Adam and Joshua. A memorial service will be held by his Masonic Brothers at a later date. Burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Animal Humane Society.
