Obituary for Ramo

Leon Ramo, M.D., died Wednesday, May 19, 1999 at his home in Denver, Colorado. He was 88 years old. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Lillian Ramo. He is survived by his son, Dr. Barry W. Ramo; his daughter, Barbara Ramo Trotsky of Denver; and five grandchildren, Joshua and Jennifer Ramo, and Kelli, Kevin and Kari Trotsky. He is also survived by his brother, Simon Ramo of Los Angeles. Dr. Ramo was a graduate of the University of Utah and graduated first in his class from the University of Colorado Medical School. He served for four years in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was Chief of the Pulmonary Service at Fitzsimmons Hospital in Denver. He retired as a Colonel. For 40 years, as a general practitioner, he served his patients with love and dignity, and stood proudly as a role model for his son. He was much beloved by his patients. Dr. Ramo especially loved caring for older patients. He was a fine violinist in his youth and an avid championship bridge player until his death. His funeral service will be at Feldman Mortuary in Denver on Sunday, May 23, 1999. Rabbi Issac Celnik will lead a memorial service in Albuquerque at Dr. Ramo's home at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 24.
