COL (Ret) Judd Thomas Harris, Jr. 11/24/20 - 5/19/99COL (Ret) Judd T. Harris, Jr. passed away Wednesday, May 19, 1999 at his home in Albuquerque. Judd was born on November 24, 1920 in Hoquaim, Washington. Judd was married by proxy to Vinita"Nita" Evelyn Booth on August 14, 1943 while serving in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. They later reaffirmed their vows in Seattle, Washington on November 11, 1944 after his return from the war in the South Pacific. Judd was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and the Vietnam War. Judd joined the U.S. Army shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor as a Private and rose to the rank of Full Colonel during the course of a thirty (30) year military career. Judd and his family moved to Albuquerque in 1967, where he later retired from the military and went on to teach middle school science in Los Lunas. Judd is survived by his loving wife, Nita; his daughter, Kristin Pilling, grandchildren, Erin and Jason Pilling; son, Michael and wife, Sandy, grandchildren, Sarrah and Charlotte; son, Craig, grandchildren, Amie and Eric; great-grandchild, Destinee; son, Scott and wife, Deedee, grandchildren, Shane and Cole; and son, Steven and wife, Gena, grandchildren, Logan and Denny. Judd was a dedicated family man. He actively participated with the growth and development of his five children, Kristin, Michael, Craig, Scott, and Steven through Boy Scouts and the Evening Optimist Club of Albuquerque. Judd was also a master cabinet maker, a Free Mason and an accomplished home builder. Daddy, your loving wife, Nita, your children and family will miss you. You were always there for us and you will never be forgotten. We will always love you. Services will be held Friday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
